Vice Marshal (AVM) Jomo Onyemaechi Osahor was born on 20 July 1965 at
Ajagbodudu. He hails from Egbudu-Akah in Aniocha South Local Government Area of
Delta State. He was enlisted into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) as a member of
Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 33 Regular Course on 10 January 1983. He passed
out from the Academy as the best graduating Nigerian Air Force Cadet of his
Course and was commissioned Pilot Officer on 14 December 1985. In his quest for
success as an engineering officer in his chosen career, he attended several
military and civil courses.

Vice Marshal Osahor attended Officers
Engineering Course, Helicopters Engineering Course in France and Type Rating
Courses on Puma, Supa Puma, Aloette and Gazelle helicopters also in France. In
addition to the military courses, he attended some civil courses and earned
several qualifications, which include Bachelor of Engineering (Mech/Prod) in
1995 from Enugu State University of Science and Technology and Master of
Science, Engineering (Mech) from University of Lagos in 1999. He also has
Master of Arts, Peace and Conflict Studies and Master of Science, Strategic
Studies both from University of Ibadan.

Vice Marshal Osahor has held several key academic and engineering
appointments in the course of his career. Notable amongst them are Engineering
Control Officer at 401 Aircraft Maintenance Depot, Commanding Officer 14
Logistics Wing at 115 Special Operations Group Port Harcourt and Helicopter
Overhaul Centre Ikeja. Others are Command Air Engineering Officer at
Headquarters Logistics Command, Directing Staff Armed Forces Command and Staff
College, Jaji, Deputy Director Works Production Centre and Acting Director
Coordination at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji. Air Vice Marshal
Osahor was a Principal Planning Officer at Department of Military Planning,
Economic Community of West African States Commission Abuja. He was also a
member of Economic Community of West African States Commission Abuja Joint
Verification and Reconnaissance Team to Liberia in 2003. Furthermore, he was
the Planning and Production manager as well as the acting General Manager
Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited. Air Vice Marshal
Osahor served as the Dean of School of Air Engineering and Principal Staff
Officer Coordination both at Air Force Institute of Technology Kaduna. On 2
October 2013, Jomo was appointed Commander 337 Base Services Group (now 553
Base Services Group), Enugu.

Vice Marshal Osahor was later appointed Director of Production Headquarters
Nigerian Air force. After which, he was appointed Chief of Aircraft
Engineering, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Abuja on 12 October 2015. Air
Vice Marshal Osahor was the Chairman of Aeronautical Engineering Technical
Services Limited Board of Directors in his capacity as the Chief of Aircraft
Engineering. He is presently the Director General, Defence Research and
Development Bureau at Defence Headquarters, Abuja. He has been involved in
various engineering research projects. These include research and indigenous
overhaul of Alpha Jet Aircraft brake assemblies in partnership with Innoson
Motors as well as the local production of bomb release pyrocatridges. This was
achieved as Director of Production at the heat of the insurgency war when all
the brake assemblies ordered from abroad were seized in those countries. As
Chief of Aircraft Engineering, he led a team that designed and weaponized 3
Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet aircraft which were not originally configured for
weapon delivery. As Director General, Defence Research and Development Bureau,
he researched and produced Compo Ration known as Meals Ready to Eat (MRE) in
partnership with Erisco Foods Ltd for the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to
enhance operational efficiency. The MRE has a shelf life of one year.
Furthermore, he collaborated with MG VOWGAS Port harcourt to design, develop
and fabricate the first indigenous military airboat, which can navigate through
shallow waters, swampy terrains and uncharted waters with a maximum speed of
100km/hr. He also partnered with Centre for Energy Research and Training, Zaria
as well as the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) India to
design and develop an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Detector at standoff
distance of 50 metres. This is the first of its kind in the world.

Vice Marshal Osahor has the following awards and decorations; General
Service Star (GSS), Pass Staff College dagger (psc+), Fellow Defence College (fdc), Bachelor of
Engineering (B. Eng) and Master of Science (Msc). He is a Fellow Nigerian Society of Engineers
(FNSE) as well as a Registered Engineer (R Eng) with the Council for the
Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria. He is also a fellow of International Agency
for Emergency Managers (FIAEM), fellow of Nigerian Institute of Production
Engineers (FNIPE) as well as Nigerian Institute of Space Engineers (MNISE).

Vice Marshal Ubrufih Peter Uzezi was born in Warri, Delta State. He hails from
Aviara in Isoko South LGA of Delta State. He had his primary education at
Agbasa Primary School, Warri, and secondary school education at Saint Peters
Clavers College, Aghalokpe and A-Level at Government College. He was admitted
into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 36 Regular Combatant Course
and thereafter, he was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Forces a Pilot
Officer on 23 September 1989.

Vice Marshal Uzezi did his ab-initio Pilot Training at 401 Flying Training
School (FTS) Kaduna, where he emerged as the Best Student in Academics and in
Flying. Thereafter, he attended the Basic Flying Course at 403 FTS, Kano; graduated
in 2001 and finishing the course with distinction as the Best Overall Student.
Uzezi’s exceptional flying performance qualified him to attend the Advanced
Flying Course at the 407 Air Combat Training Group (ACTG), Kainji in 2002 where
he qualified as a Fighter Pilot. In 2006, he was selected among the very few
outstanding pilots to attend the Instructor Pilot Training Course in 401 FTS
Kaduna where he was certified as a Qualified Flying Instructor. Between his
instructor pilot’s duties, he attended the United Nations Military Observer’s
Course in Russia in 2005, Flight Safety and Aircraft Accident Investigator
Course in India, Disaster Management Course in UK to mention but a few.

Vice Marshal Uzezi attended the Junior Command and Staff Course at the Armed
Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji in 2000 and later attended the Advanced
Command & Staff Course at the Joint Services Command and Staff College,
United Kingdom from 2003 – 2004 where he was awarded the psc(j). The senior
officer attended the National Defence College, Bangladesh in 2014. Air
Vice Marshal Uzezi holds a B.Sc in Physics from the Nigerian Defence Academy,
MA Defence Studies from King’s College London and Masters in Strategy and Development
Studies (MSDS) from the Bangladesh University of Professionals. He is a Fellow
of the International Institute of Professional Security (FIIPS).

Vice Marshal Uzezi served as the Military Assistant to the Chief of the Air
Staff in 2008, Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Staff from September
2008 to October 2010. He was the Defence Attaché, Embassy of Nigeria Paris from
January 2011 to October 2013. He also served as Deputy Director of Manuals at
Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Commander 407 ACTG, Kainji, Commander 103
Strike Group, Yola and the Air Component Commander of OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE
(the ongoing Counter Insurgency Operation in the North East) where he not only
commanded the air operations but also flew many combat missions against the
Boko Haram terrorists. Since leaving the operational area, the senior officer
has served at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Abuja as the Deputy Director
of Operations, Deputy Director of Training and Director Civil Military Relations.
He was also the Director Earth Observation at the DSA before his current
appointment as DOPOL.

Gen Godwin Ahamuefula Umelo was born on 13 May 1965. He was admitted into the
Nigerian Defence Academy in 1985 as a member of 37Regular Course and
commissioned 2nd lieutenant in 1990. He is of the Nigerian Army Corps of
Artillery. In the course of his military career, he has attended several
courses and seminars commensurate with his rank and status both within and
outside Nigeria.

Gen Umelo has held several appointments spanning command, staff and
instruction. He served as an instructor in the Nigerian Army School of
Artillery and the Nigerian Defence Academy at different times. He also served
at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College as well as the National Defence
College as a Directing Staff. Maj Gen Umelo also served as the Commanding
Officer NIBATT 15 UNMIL. He also commanded 313 Artillery Regiment as well as 38
Artillery Brigade in Operation LAFIYA DOLE. He was at one time the Director of
Campaign Planning at Headquarters Nigeria Army and a Sector Commander/Nigerian
Contingent Commander in the United Nations and African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur
(UNAMID) Sudan. Maj Gen Umelo also served as the Director Peace Keeping at the
Army Headquarters Department of Training and Operations. Before his current
appointment, the senior officer was the immediate past General Officer
Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army. He also had a brief stint at the Nigerian
Army Resource Centre as a Subject Expert in charge of North America. He is
currently the Director General Defence Simulation Centre.

1. Major General Charles Ofoche was born on 30 April 1967 at Ogidi, Anambra State. He hails from Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. He gained admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in 1986 as a member of 38 Regular Course. He graduated from the Academy and was commissioned to the rank of 2Lt on 21 September 1991. He was subsequently posted to the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery. In the course of his military career, he has attended several courses both within and outside Nigeria.

2. The senior officer has held several appointments spanning command, staff and instruction. He served in 303 Artillery Regiment as a Platoon Commander and 323 Artillery Regiment as an Battery Commander. He was also a Military Observer at the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Democratic Republic of Congo. Major General Ofoche also served at Army Headquarters Department of Administration as Staff Officer. Grade 1 Welfare Services. He was at one time the Assistant Director Military Secretary 1 at the Department of Military Secretary (Army). Major General Ofoche also served as the Commanding Officer 323 Artillery Regiment. He was also the Assistant Chief of Staff at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery. Within the period 2009 - 2010, he served as the Military Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Defence. The senior officer also served in the erstwhile Army Transformation and Innovation Centre as Deputy Director Operation Analysis. He also held the appointment of the Deputy Military Secretary 1 at the Department of Army Military Secretary.
3. Major General Ofoche was later appointed as the Commander 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure. The senior officer was subsequently posted to Army War College Nigeria as the pioneer Director of Studies. Major General Ofoche was later appointed as the Commandant Army War College Nigeria. After the tour of duty at Army War College Nigeria, the senior officer was appointed Director of Plans in Army Headquarters Department of Policy and Plans. After several appointments in his career, the senior officer was appointed the Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation at Army Headquarters Department of Army Transformation and Innovation. Major general Ofoche is currently the Director General Defence Research and Development Bureau.
